Tractor Beams in the Martial Arts

[I:http://discountdesignerluggage.info/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/AlCase14.jpg]At the heart of the martial arts, though I have never seen nor heard of it discussed, is the ability to make beams. I say beams, and I include tractor or pressor or any other kind of beam. A beam refers to a line, though it need not be a line, of energy that is exuded from the body of the martial artist.

Unless a martial art helps a person to create a beam of energy at will, it cannot be considered a true martial art. It is a sad fat that most martial arts on this planet are aimed towards energizing body parts, or just the shabby excuse of building muscle. In this article we will discuss how to awaken the reader to the ability to create beams of energy.

When you really look at it, the body is nothing more than a machine. It is has various linking systems, but it is still just constructed of meat and bone. Indeed, to the person who is not used to operating the body, though it is actually very simple to use, it can resemble a Rubic’s cube.

To remake the body as a device that can beam energy one must practice classical forms, and understand the value inherent within classical stances. When one trains in the classical stances he is required to work, and this work will aid in the creation of energy in the Tan Tien, which is located a couple of inches below the navel, and which is nothing more than an energy generator on a body/machine level. One should help in this process by cycling the breathing in accordance with the contraction or expansion of the body.

To stance, to work, to breath, to concentrate awareness along the path of the arms, to imagine. It is imagination that sets us apart from the beasts, and it is imagination that is necessary to create the idea of a beam of energy coming out of the body. You must practice until the mind is calm and then it will be able to imagine.

To test your ability to beam it is necessary to use a simple and often over looked gimmick. Set up a candle and face it, punch, and stop your fist an inch from the flame. Do not trick flick the flame by leaving the line of the beam, but focus, and keep the line of the beam as straight as possible.

With success over time, stop your fist two inches from the flame, then further. increase distance until you can put out the flame from across the room. Eventually, with great patience and desire, you will be able to merely look at the flame and make it go out.

There are those who will seek the instant gratification of simple fighting and not persist, there are who claim that such practices as detailed here are of little importance and they will deride through laughter. Then there are those who will persist with this simple exercise, and it is these people who will discover the depths of their being. You can measure the difference between the two is measured by your persisting faith, your firm belief in yourself, and it is this that will awaken you to yourself, and to your true abilities.
